I’m keeping one of my current fiction projects a bit quiet. After realizing that I needed to re-think the first novel I release to the public, I’ve begun to experiment with a stand-alone novel idea I have, but it is an experiment. I’m working hard on this idea, putting more time into it, but I’m going to have to wait to see how it comes out.
While I’m working and waiting, I’m also still working on Jacqueline’s story, which is more of a serial than a series, but not quite a stand-alone.
Jacqueline’s story is progressing—backwards. I started too late into the story, and while that works fine for writing, I also need to make sure I have a solid foundation for the story. I may end up re-arranging it yet again, but for now I’m going backwards in time to see how Jacqueline, Holt, and Jonathan got where they were when they started—not just knowing how they got there, but showing how they got there.
Will it make it into the final novel? Maybe, maybe not. The work is worth doing for me anyway.
