My son, a writhing eel,
Wrestling all the way up,
Goes to bed, not sleep.

Flowers in Winter

Colors spray out of
my three brittle blown vases,
shivering for spring.

The Leak

Snow melts; the wall cries.
Weeping for dry autumn days.
Whirring dries the tears.

The swing-set jungle;
Grass grows high to hide the way,
Tickling boys’ bare legs.
