We make mistakes. We piss off our audience. Often, we can’t go back and fix it without making things worse.
What do you do?
Well, what do you do in real life? Because, whether the story is real or not, the relationship you have with your readers is very real.
So, what can you do but apologize? I mean, really. You took a risk or you made an honest mistake. Either way, you have to bite the bullet and apologize in order to win back a little of the trust you have lost. Otherwise, you’re selling out your audience’s trust for the sake of your pride and that’s an even bigger mistake than the one you already made.
