Trailer Time: An Interview for a Trailer?

This is why platform is important…

Granted, most of us cannot make a book trailer out of a television interview.  The question then becomes, if you could, would you?

As an interview, this certainly works, it raises attention about the author and the book, it gives us a taste of what to expect, so we can decide for ourselves whether it fits our tastes.  But does it work as a trailer?  What do you think?

As part of a campaign, I think this trailer works, on a number of levels. I’d never heard of this guy, as either an author or an actor, but like everyone else, I’ve heard about the movie about the creator of Mary Poppins. So suddenly, there’s a great big connection where there was none before. I may not buy his book now, but if I see that movie, and like him as an actor/comedian, I may decide to take a chance on the book. Very clever.
